Zcash info & Mining

Zcash Mining – Beginners Guide

Zcash – Zcash offers total payment confidentiality, while still maintaining a decentralized network using a public blockchain.

Zcash Algorithm – Equihash

1st Nov 2016 Price on Poloniex : 1 Zcash [ZEC] = 2.32Bitcoins [BTC] = $1645

I am mining in suprnova pool.
MY RIG
CPU – Intel Xeon E3 1230 V3
GPU – AMD R9 290
GPU Driver Version – 16.10.3
NiceHash Windows CPU + GPU Miner v0.4b – Zcash Mining Speed ~55 sol/s
Claymore’s AMD GPU Miner v10.0 – Zcash Mining Speed ~ 265 sol/s
Genoil AMD GPU Miner v0.6 – Zcash Mining Speed ~ 30 sol/s

Zcash [ZEC] Cryptocurrency Mining

1. Register here – https://zec.suprnova.cc/

2. Zcash wallet address – Register on https://poloniex.com
I registered on poloniex and used its zcash deposit address as my Zcash wallet address
Under Balances -> Click on Deposits and Withdrawals.
Select Deposit address on Zcash
This will be your Zcash Payout address

Zcash Address

3. Copy and paste the Zcash deposit address in your suprnova pool account.
Set up a withdrawal pin and update.

Automatic Payout = 0.01 Zcash [you can set it to 0 if you dont want that]
Manual payout = 0.001 Zcash

4. Create a worker in Suprnova pool
Click My Workers and set up your workername and workerpassword.

null

5. I am using Claymore’s AMD miner for suprnova pool. It supports mining on AMD GPU

Claymore’s AMD miner v10 https://mega.nz/#F!P0ZjFDjC!Cmb-ZRqlbAnNrajRtp4zvA

Nichehash Miner supports both AMD + Nvidia GPU and CPU but isn’t as effective as Claymore’s
Download CPU+GPU Windows Nicehash Miner from here v0.4b – https://github.com/ocminer/nheqminer/releases
Create a folder and unzip the contents of the miner in that folder

6a. Claymore’s AMD miner [v10.0 recommended]
Claymore miner will work only with AMD cards 7xxx, 2xx, 3xx and 4xx, 2GB or more.
Windows x64 [no 32 bit support, also supports linux x64]
Developer fee : Mines for 90 seconds for the developer every hour

Once you unzip the contents of the folder.
Edit start.bat inside the folder and insert the below code

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -zwal weblogin.workername -zpsw workerpassword -allpools 1
pause

The code is the same for all versions of Claymore’s AMD miner

————————————–
These images are of older versions but it works the same, just better speeds and minor improvements in the latest version

6b. Nicehash windows CPU + GPU miner v0.4b
Create a .bat file inside the miner folder and paste the following code depending upon your CPU and GPU and you can name it Start

nheqminer -l zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -u Weblogin.Worker -p password -t 4 -od 0
pause

Weblogin – your username
Worker – your workername
Password – your workerpassword

-t 4 = here 4 suggests that the miner will work on 4 threads of CPU
Its efficient to use 75% of your CPU.
So if you have 4 cores, use 3 i.e. -t 3
If you have a CPU which supports hyperthreading, so you have 4 cores + 4 virtual cores
then you can use 6 cores like me i.e. -t 6

-od 0 = here od = is for AMD GPU and 0 suggests it will use 1 GPU
For Nvidia devices use -cd
For 2 GPU devices use 01
For 3 GPU devices use 02

7. Now once you have created start.bat file, double click and the miner will start.
If its successful , you will see something like this as shown in the image.

8. I have already been paid to my poloniex address. My payment proof
Payout Proof

So far, Claymore is best but it supports only AMD and no GPU and also there is a developer fee.
Nicehash is best for CPU and GPU mining together
